Let Creativity Fly stationery and paper since 2009

About Koogel

Koogel makes the paper between an idea and a finished project. Since 2009, under one concept: Let Creativity Fly.

What Koogel makes

If you have a deck of flash cards in your bag, a stack of tissue in the hall closet or a pack of cardstock waiting for a school project, you already know the kind of thing we make. Koogel is a stationery and paper brand. Today 93 products sit on 10 shelves of this site: index cards and flash cards, notebooks and journals, filler paper and notepads, tissue paper, gift tags and wrapping, cardstock and craft paper, henna and craft stencils, party supplies, kids' crafts and a handful of desk tools.

They have one thing in common. Each is made to be used up. A deck of cards earns its keep when its corners go soft by finals week, and a pack of tissue when the last sheet goes into the last gift bag of December.

Where the name and the idea come from

Koogel was established in 2009. On our brand page we put the whole idea into three words, Let Creativity Fly, and it has not changed since. Paper should help a project take off, then get out of the way.

In practice that means we start from the job, not from the sheet. A card that will be flipped two hundred times needs weight in the hand. A sheet of tissue that has to fill a bag needs a long side about twice the bag opening. A class set needs colors in even counts so the last student does not get the leftovers.

Who we make it for

Students come first, from a third grader learning sight words to a nursing student drilling pharmacology. Teachers come next: they buy cardstock, tissue and stickers by the class set, so counts per color matter to them more than to anyone. Then everyone who wraps a gift, plans a party, keeps a recipe box or writes a speech on cue cards.

Across our products people have left 62,073 ratings, with a weighted average of 4.5 out of 5. We read them the way a teacher reads homework: for what they say about the next pack.

How a pack comes together

Every pack names its numbers. The paper weight is printed on the label, from 17gsm tissue to 250gsm cardstock, so you know whether a sheet folds or stands before you open it. Counts are exact and per color: our 300-card ring set holds 50 cards in each of 6 colors, and the colored 3 x 5 bulk cards come in 8 colors, ruled on both sides.

Finishing follows the job. Spiral decks tear along a perforated edge, ring sets ship with their metal rings and kraft covers, filler paper is 3-hole punched for a standard binder, and gift tags come with their string attached. Where a pack makes a claim about materials, such as FSC-certified fiber in our tissue or acid-free cardstock, it is made only on the packs that carry it, and our page on how we update links the public sources that explain it.
