How to choose
Picking the right Koogel index cards
Size
A 2.2 x 3.5 card fits a shirt pocket, 3 x 5 suits a card box, and 5 x 8 holds a whole recipe.
Binding
Rings let you add and reorder cards as a course moves on, while spiral pads of 50 cards tear out clean along a perforated edge.
Weight
Our 230gsm ring cards feel close to a playing card in the hand, and the 150gsm packs are lighter for filing in bulk.
Ruling
Blank cards leave room for diagrams and mind maps, while the colored 3 x 5 cards carry college ruling on both sides at 7.1 mm.
Index cards
How people use our index cards
Most students write a question on the front and the answer on the back, then shuffle until only the hard cards are left. Rings make that sorting physical. The cards you know come off the ring, and the 300-card pocket set at 2.2 x 3.5 inches goes back in a jacket carrying only the stubborn ones. For a whole course, the 1,080-card and 1,500-card ring sets split into six or seven colors, one per subject or chapter. Spread the reviews over several days, as our guide to studying with index cards lays out step by step. A deck shrinks faster that way than in one long night.
Away from exams, the cards take on quieter jobs. A speaker holds a 230gsm card at a lectern because it stays flat in one hand. Cooks pick the 4 x 6 spiral set, eight pads of 50 cards, where each recipe tears along a perforated line and drops into a recipe box. The tabbed 3 x 5 set prints a header strip on all 252 cards, so a box of recipes or client notes gets its own dividers. Counts on this shelf of Koogel stationery run from 200 to 1,500 cards. One short deck for a wedding toast and a carton for a full school year sit side by side.

Questions
Questions about Koogel index cards
Are Koogel index cards thick enough for your markers?
Our ring cards are 230gsm, close to the feel of a playing card, and made to resist ink bleeding. The colored 3 x 5 packs are 150gsm and take writing on both sides. For a heavy marker, start with a 230gsm set and test one card before you fill a whole deck.
Which Koogel flash cards fit in your pocket?
The 2.2 x 3.5 inch cards, the size of a business card. They come on rings in sets from 250 to 1,500 cards, with kraft covers on the 300-card set and waterproof covers on the key-ring set. The 3 x 5 card is the next size up and fits most card boxes.
Can you tear single cards out of Koogel spiral index cards?
Yes. Our spiral 3 x 5 and 4 x 6 pads have a perforated line next to the coil. Each card comes away with a clean edge, ready for a recipe box or a folder divider. The 3 x 5 sets hold 400 or 500 cards, and the 4 x 6 set holds 400 in eight pads.
Do Koogel ruled cards give you lines on both sides?
The colored ruled 3 x 5 cards do, with college ruling front and back at 7.1 mm in 8 colors. Our lined ring cards are ruled on both sides as well. On the tabbed 3 x 5 set, narrow ruling fits more lines, and the blank sets leave both faces open for drawing.
