How to choose
Picking the right Koogel notebooks and journals
Size
Pocket books measure 3.5 x 5 or 3.5 x 5.5 inches, A5 journals about 6 x 8, and the subject notebooks a full 8.5 x 11.
Binding
Stitched pocket books stay slim with no metal coil, while spiral notebooks fold back flat on a cramped desk or a car seat.
Paper
The subject notebooks and the 4.5 x 5.7 spirals use 80g paper, the 3 x 5 top-spiral books 70g, and the sketchbooks 100gsm.
Pack count
Party packs come as 24, 32, 40 or 56 books, so you can match a guest list or a class and still keep a few spares.
Notebooks
How people use our notebooks and journals
A five-subject notebook saves you from carrying five books to class. Our 8.5 x 11 spirals hold 100 sheets split by five colored dividers, and one version adds ten white labels you can peel off and reapply when a course changes. Its finished pages tear out on 3-hole edges and go straight into a binder. The A5 hardcover journal makes the same five-way split on 120 sheets, then adds a closure band, a pen loop and a pocket inside the back cover for receipts and handouts. Loose sheets for the binder itself come from our filler paper and notepads, punched to match.
Small books do different work. A 3 x 5 top-spiral book with 50 college-ruled sheets keeps the coil away from your writing hand, which helps when you jot a phone number standing at a counter. The stitched 3.5 x 5.5 books carry 48 pages each and come 24 to 56 to a pack. In the 32-book pack they span 16 colors, two of each. For private writing, the lock diary closes with a three-dial combination that ships set to 000. Sketchers can pick up the hardcover 2-pack from Koogel: 5.7 x 8.2 inches, 50 blank sheets of 100gsm paper, and a 2mm board cover ready for paint or stickers.

Questions
Questions about Koogel notebooks and journals
Can you file Koogel notebook pages in a 3-ring binder?
The 8.5 x 11 five-subject spiral with labels has 3-hole tear-out pages, so finished notes move to a binder without a punch. Our other notebooks keep their pages bound. For notes that start in a binder, the wide-ruled and colored filler paper on our filler shelf comes punched for standard 3-ring binders.
How small is the smallest Koogel notebook you can carry?
The tie-dye minis, at 3.9 x 2.4 inches with a top spiral and blank pages, 24 to a pack. Next up are the stitched pocket books at 3.5 x 5 and 3.5 x 5.5 inches and the 3 x 5 top-spiral books. All have soft or cardstock covers that bend with a pocket.
How do you set the code on the Koogel lock diary?
It arrives set to 000. Push the latch to the left to open it. To set your own code, slide the latch right, turn the three dials to your numbers and let go. The diary is 6 x 8.6 inches with 120 sheets and comes with a matching pen, in blue or pink.
Will your markers bleed through a Koogel sketchbook?
Each 5.7 x 8.2 inch sketchbook holds 50 sheets of 100gsm paper, heavier than the 70g and 80g paper in our writing notebooks and made to resist bleed-through. Wet, heavy markers can still show on the back of a page, so try one sheet before a full drawing.
